I am so excited about what is happening with my novel. The local readers have been quite flattering and I haven't had a bad review yet. APOOO.org gave me 4 out of 5 stars. I'll take that! (Would've liked a 5 though...) See it on Amazon.com It seems that the 150-page novel is a bit short for today's readers. I'll have to lengthen the next one. I am so thankful to my marketing team (Lorene, Latasha, Kim, Betty, and Danielle) who are helping me to get the word out about Sassy. We expect great things.
I had an impromptu booksigning at my church (West Point M. B. Church located at 3566-72 S. Cottage Grove, where Dr. L. Bernard Jakes is the Senior Pastor), and sold out. I am still taking orders. That's cool that my own people are supporting me and my efforts.
The next booksigning is scheduled for Saturday, June 21, 2008. It will be held at House of Africa located at 1510 E. 63rd St. in Chicago from 3-7pm.
